Fionn Griffiths won the 4x at last night’s Andorra round of the World Cup 2009 . It’s her first 4x WC win, and she’s working overtime this weekend racing both DH and 4x. The Vallnord 4x track is bigger, longer and gnarlier than most 4x tracks, which may be why it seemed to favor the DH crossovers on the day. Fionn jumps from 5th spot to 2nd in the 4x rankings for 2009 with this win.

The final got pretty exciting when top qualifier Jill Kintner tangled with leader Jana Horakova, and ended up finishing 4th with Jana in 3rd. Anneke Beerten chased Fionn all the way to the end to finish second. Anneke had a crash in her qualifying run – she was lucky that once again the UCI allowed all entrants to go through to the finals after qualifying, and with this placing she retains her number 1 rank.  Anneke’s Suspension Center team-mate Emmeline Ragot placed fifth, getting her first World Cup 4x podium.
