Anneke Beerten has taken the World cup title again for 2009, clinching the series win with a vctory at the final round in Schladming, World Cup 4x 2009. Although she only needed a fifth place finish or above to take the title, Anneke was stoked to finish on top. Anita Molcik came second in this round, and her and Yeti team-mate Jared Graves won the team’s title for the overall, ahead of Anneke and Emmeline Ragot’s Suspension Center.
Third place went to British rider Katy Curd who had her first World Cup podium here. Fourth was Mio Suemasa who missed out on getting through to the finals in Canberra but who would have been stoked to get through for the last World Cup race for ‘09.
The points race was close leading into this round with Jill Kintner and Fionn Griffiths tied for second. The two riders remain tied in the final score after Fionn crashed out in qualifying, and Jill went down hard in the first round of racing and missed the podium ceremony while at the hospital getting checked out.
