Martha Hucker interview with Katrina Strand

Katrina Strand is one of the most relaxed riders you could hope to meet. The Canadian downhiller has been tearing it up on the World Cup circuit as well as on her home trails in Whistler long enough to be well known in the MTB world. When she’s not racing, Katrina works a personal trainer and MTB coach, and also organizes the only women’s freeride event, The Gala. You can read a full profile of Katrina from when she was featured on the Freeride Foundation as the rider of the month here.

Katrina has been visiting New Zealand during her off season, trading some snowboarding time for a tan, a lot of mud, and a few bruises. French national champ Emmeline Ragot interviewed her on a beach in NZ before she caught the boat back to Canada. Click the video below for the lowdown on how Katrina’s racing went, her ‘secrets’ for staying so chilled at races, and the latest in flat pedal technology!
