Sabrina Jonnier is now leading the World Cup series after winning her second consecutive today at the Vallnord DH and 4x World Cup 2009 The Team Maxxis/Rocky Mountain rider was dominant over the whole track, keeping her speed up through everything and beating her winning qualifying time by a massive eight seconds.
The course is a familiar one to riders, and the rough rocky track clearly suited Sabrina and her new pink bike. Earlier wet weather had cleared leaving conditions dry and dusty, although snow still bordered the track in some sections.

Emmeline Ragot had a wicked run aside from hitting a tree with her bars in the top section of a course, which didn’t seem to slow her down at all! She took over the hot-seat convincingly from Celine Gros and managed to keep it from Tracy Moseley who finished in third. Emmeline has been riding hard this weekend, getting her first 4x podium last night with a 5th, and will be stoked with this result, although I’m sure number 1 spot would have been even better…

Once again the French dominated the podium with Celine Gros taking fourth place and Myriam Nicole getting another WC podium in fifth. Mio Suemasahad an amazingly smooth run and finished sixth, which is a shame since she won’t be on the freecaster.tv top-5 replay – she really is one of the best technical riders, male or female and great to watch.
Other standout perfomances included World 4x Champ Melissa Buhl, the only US rider in the final, who held the hot-seat for quite a while and finished with the 8th fastest time. Fionn Griffiths wasn’t too tired after winning the 4x last night and still finished in the top ten. And Fanny Lombard and Anais Pajot, the two junior women enterred in this round, both qualified for the final with Anais finishing an impressive tenth.
