Sarah Walker and Harriet Harper take titles at NZ National Champs
The New Zealand National Mountain Bike champs 2010 kicked off this evening with dual slalom and fourcross racing. BMX world champ Sarah Walker was enterred in both events, and gave the mountain bike chicks a good run for their money. The dual slalom was tight, with 2009 downhill champ Harriet Harper managing to take the win by just 0.6 of a second. Sarah Walker showed her strength in the 4x, winning the women's heats and finals convincingly, with junior rider Sarah Atkin riding well to place second, ahead of Harriet Harper in third.
The Nationals continue over the weekend, with cross country tomorrow and the downhill on Sunday at Long Gully.
