Tracy Moseley will be wearing the UK colours on her uniform for the fourth consecutive year after winning the UK National Champs. It’s her seventh national DH title in total, with the first way back in 1998. 2003 champ Helen Gaskell finished 14 seconds back in second place. 2Stage rider Jessica Stone finished third, coming back after a disastrous seeding run to finish just two seconds behind her friend and mentor Gas.
The numbers were fairly low in most categories compared to other nations, with the Juvenile, and Masters 2 Categories each having just one entrant and the Junior categor dropping to one rider after one of two entrants crashed out in seeding. French-based ripper Tahnee Seagrave deservedly took the Juvenile title (check out her riding here). Monet Adams was slightly quicker than Tahnee to take the Junior title while Anne Langmaid is the Masters 2 National Champ. It’s great that the UK is choosing to run these categories at National Champs rather than cut them out due to low numbers like other countries.
In the mens, Steve Peat crashed while leading in his race run, leaving it open for Gee Atherton to take the win.
