It’s the day before the biggest day in the 2009 downhill mountain biking calendar, the World Champs. Here in Canberra it feels a bit like Christmas Eve, but with more bikes than Santa could hope to haul around, and a fair amount of nervous energy mixed in with the atmosphere of excitement and anticipation. All the training, practicing and organistation that everyone’s put in all comes down to one run. By tomorrow evening, new Elite and Junior downhill world champions will be decided. And then there’ll be a party…
